Built for Extreme Cold
The Forged Low Temperature Butt Weld Gate is designed for deep cold service. This includes LNG receiving terminals, air separation units, and cryogenic storage facilities. The pipe temperatures here can drop to -196°C. Regular carbon steel becomes brittle at these temperatures. It can fracture. Standard valve designs also fail because the materials shrink and lose their seal.
Special Design for Cryogenic Service
Chenxiang makes this low temperature gate valve from F304 and F316L austenitic stainless steel. We also use LCB low-temperature steel. These materials keep their impact toughness even at -196°C. The valve has an extended bonnet. This keeps the packing area away from the cold zone. It stops the packing from freezing and failing. The welded connection removes the risk of gasket leaks at low temperatures. The models are Z61H, Z61Y, and Z61W. The body materials are F304/F316L stainless steel and LCB low-temperature steel. The drives are manual, gear, pneumatic, electric, and hydraulic. The connections are BW and SW. The hard seal materials are H (Cr13 stainless steel), W (body seal), and Y (STL overlay).

The pressure range is PN16 to PN420 (150LB to 2500LB). The size range is DN15 to DN50 (1/2" to 2"). The working temperature is -196°C to 200°C. This valve is widely used in the LNG industry, air separation, and liquid oxygen/nitrogen storage and transport. The media include natural gas, LPG, nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, and other cryogenic liquefied gases.

The Strictest Testing
Our factory has a cryogenic test tank. We take samples from each batch. We soak them in liquid nitrogen. Then we do impact tests and seal tests at low temperature. As our boss often says, if a low-temperature valve leaks, it is very hard to repair. So the testing must be strict. Every low-temperature gate valve gets an air tightness test and a low-temperature seal test before shipping. We use high-precision thermometers to monitor the temperature during testing. Each valve comes with a low-temperature impact report and a material certificate. Chenxiang Valve has exported many low-temperature valves to Russia and South Korea. We have rich experience in making and testing these valves.
